Welcome to Woody Gap School

Weaving the past with the present for the future...

Woody Gap School, a member of the Union County School System, is the smallest public school in the state of Georgia. We are a K-12 school located in the "Valley Above the Clouds" in Suches, Georgia. Our low student-teacher ratio ensures that students receive unparalleled individual attention in a supportive learning environment.

Our students participate in a K–12 team competition called Falcon Quest throughout the year, on one of three teams. Falcon Quest involves students in striving for excellence in all aspects of their school experience. Our after-school learning enrichment program offers our younger students additional learning time and opportunities in the arts. Our steel drum band, the Band of Steel, performs near and far to the delight of audiences and culminates each year with a memorable trip for committed band members. Our students play basketball and tennis. For high-achieving high school students, we offer dual enrollment options in partnership with area colleges and universities.

Woody Gap School is also home to our regionally known Indian Summer Festival, which falls each year on the first weekend in October. For more information about the festival, visit Suches.com.
