Success for All
Woody Gap School, a member of the Union County School System, is the smallest public school in the state of Georgia. We are a K-12 school located in the "Valley Above the Clouds" in Suches, Georgia. Our low student-teacher ratio ensures that students receive unparalleled individual attention in a supportive learning environment.
Our Mountain Heritage Program engages students in a place-based, project-based education, introducing our students to a range of career-technical skills along the way, from carpentry to videography to sustainable agriculture. We invite you to learn more about our vision for "weaving the past with the present for the future" at our Mountain Heritage School website.
Our after-school learning enrichment program offers students additional learning time and opportunities in the arts. Our steel drum band, the Band of Steel, performs near and far to the delight of audiences and culminates each year with a memorable trip for committed band members. Our students play basketball and tennis. For high-achieving high school students, we offer dual enrollment options in partnership with area colleges and universities.
Woody Gap School is also home to our regionally known Indian Summer Festival, held each year on the first full weekend in October. For more information about the festival, visit Suches.com.
